The blog’s been awfully quiet this last month hasn’t it? Blogging 1-2 times per week is a little under my norm, but it’s also been so nice to not have the pressure of being stuck behind my laptop so often :] After we launched the new site, it was high time for a break. I worked straight through our “slow” season to get that puppy launched and then took some self imposed and scheduled grace surrounding Ollie’s birthday. That’s what being your own boss is all about, right? We hustled really hard and then rested. It’s all about that ebb and flow :]

Here’s the flip side of that coin: the blog is back! As of this weekend, we’re in full swing with engagement sessions and could not be more excited! We started out this weekend with back to back sessions with friends turned clients! It’s so often the other way around, but I loved getting to start out with some brides and grooms we already have that personal relationship with. And fun fact, both brides are roommates! How fun is that?!

I’m having a hard time recalling what else happened this week because I’m still riding the high of getting out and shooting in the sunshine again! I spent a fair amount of time crafting some client gifts and it was so fun and relaxing :] As usual, I spent a ton of time with college students, with the added benefit of it being nice enough that we could go outside!! And we even got in some time with friends and some good family time. All in all, successful week and hoping for lots more of the same goodness this week!

Here’s some feels for ya:

• David and I are awards shows people. We love them so much. We looked forward to the Oscars all day on Sunday only to find out they were only streaming in bigger cities. #reasonsweshouldliveinNYC It was the first time I’ve encountered disappointment over not having cable in quite awhile! I will say we did love following the commentary on facebook and we’re watching the replay today!
• Parking on our college campus is super strict. I’ve already gotten a parking ticket once this semester, so I wasn’t taking any chances this past Thursday. I couldn’t find parking off campus so I left my car within eye sight….and as soon as a guy came around to ticket me and my girl booked it to my car and peeled out right as he got to my car! Such a proud moment.
• Things you might find me doing on a weekend at midnight? Watching new episodes of Girl Meets World. I do genuinely enjoy it, but mostly I’m in it for the Corey and Shawn bromance moments.
• Ollie loves rice and Chipotle like you wouldn’t believe. It’s like he comes alive in there. He shovels food into his mouth, waves at strangers, and even dances around in his seat. We’ve got to start bringing people to Chipotle with us just so they can enjoy the magic that is Ollie at Chipotle.
• I’m weirdly competitive. Like so competitive that I wouldn’t speak to David for awhile last night during a game of scrabble. Someone help me.
• The shoot and share contest is finishing up and I keep receiving emails that my images are being favorited! So I must be still in it! Judging from all of the screenshots and text messages I’ve gotten from people…I’m guessing it’s one of my images of Ollie!
