There are so many special things about doing college ministry. And my favorite thing of all is that you get to see people grow and change. So often we’re told not to change, not to grow; “stay the same, you’re great the way you are.” But I can tell you first hand that change can be a very good thing! And growth is a beautiful thing as well. I was altered deeply and eternally during my time in college and it was one of the sweetest times of my life. I graduated and felt almost unrecognizable from the person I’d been when I entered college. And it was good. This year, I’ve gotten to lead a senior women’s bible study again. (which seems a little cruel because I have to say BIG goodbyes TWO years in a row!) Being with them is one of my favorite things. These girls entered college as different people with different priorities and they’re leaving in a few weeks, changed.
Karleigh is one of those women. I can so vividly remember her as a freshman! And then a sophomore…and so on. She’s been transformed by the gospel. And she is different because of her time here and because of Jesus! She’s brighter, freer, more of herself, and maaaaaybe even a little more pierced and tattooed than when she came in ;] I’ve gotten the privilege of being in a women’s group with her TWICE now (on my fav book ever, changes that heal) and I’m continually impressed by her persistence and her curiosity. She’s one of those people who dives in with the honest questions and wants to share her soul generously with others. And did I mention she’s got the most contagious laugh? Oh yes. It’s impossible not to smile when Karleigh laughs. I can almost hear it when I scroll through these images! Karleigh’s my vivacious, beautiful, joyful friend and I couldn’t be more excited to share her senior session with you today!
I don’t normally do senior sessions, but when some of my senior girls asked me, I just had to say yes. And by “had to” I mean, I got a little weepy and thought about how much fun it would be and how it’d be such a great end cap to our time together. *Cue the tears*
The image on the left was one of the very first images from our session…so yeah, I knew it was going to be a good day.
I loved her Mickey ears :]

Annnnd then the sun got all glowy and the wind got all blowy and everything was perfect.
