What a strange and wonderful thing to see my friends become mommas. I know I’ve got a kid too, but it all feels so adult! Like are we really old enough for this? Are we really qualified? Shouldn’t someone stop us before we get away with this whole becoming a mom thing? But yet, here we are! I’ve known Megan since we were fourteen years old. Which means I’ve known her for exactly half my life! I’ve seen both of us go from high school girls who worried about everything far too much to college women who started dating their future spouses to young married women transitioning into the “adult” world…and now to mothers. And this is the biggest change yet!
I treasure my friendship with Megan. We don’t get to spend hours and hours sitting on each other’s beds and chatting or having dance parties at swim meets or passing notes between classes anymore. But when we do get to see each other, it’s so sweet. We’ve got so much history to draw on! It’s so wonderful to have someone like her who knows the full picture of who I am and that we’ve gotten to experience change together as well. I got to carry the boy momma torch first, but now she’s joining the club :] And I’m so, so thankful!
Joe and Megan were so wonderful during their session! You can tell that Joe is elated to become a dad. He’s already so proud! And Megan was just glowing! Like the cutest pregnant person ever! Only several more weeks until baby boy makes his appearance and I know there are SO many loved ones who can’t wait to meet him.
