You’re going to love these two! Kate and Rodney got married at Nesselrod on the New a few years ago and so naturally, we returned there for their anniversary session! We visited the special place that held their ceremony, pausing to remember their first kiss as husband and wife. We ran all over the property that was the setting for the very beginning of their marriage, capturing them in the rhythms of normal life. Holding hands with such ease it’s a wonder they haven’t been doing it their whole lives. Laughing at Rodney’s jokes. Pulling Kate in just a little closer. Recounting their favorite memories from one of their favorite days, with so many more good days to share as they move forward.
Rodney and Kate were married three years ago, and this anniversary session was a perfect way to celebrate! I love anniversary sessions because everything is so relaxed! The stakes are lower, the atmosphere is relaxed. You’ve already shared your lives together in a very major way and you know each other so much better because of that. While engagement sessions have an undertone of excitement, anniversary sessions have an undertone of comfort. They’re important, not because they’re expected, but because they are a chosen way to pause life for a few hours and capture just how the two of you are right now.
Rodney and Kate, thank you so much for allowing us to capture this season of life for you! I hope when decades go by, you can still look back at these and remember just how it felt to be newly married!
We got some great light through those trees!
Is it any wonder that the ones inside these ivy covered trees are my favorite?
Kate, I just love your smile! Rodney’s a lucky guy :]
Love! We had the most dreamy light!
Recreating a shot from their wedding day :]
Let’s all take a moment to admire Kate’s dress! Love this one!
And this was Kate’s idea! Turned out so lovely :]
