Chelsea, a deep lover of books, had them absolutely surrounding her on her wedding day. Pops of blue also ran throughout, even in a few curls of her hair. She had a book picked out to read on her wedding day, something she never got to do amidst the hustle and bustle of getting ready. When Josh turned around to see Chelsea during their first look, all was right in the world. They both immediately relaxed, whispering to each other, except for a loud “I get to marry you?!” exclaimed by Josh. Their pup Josie arrived, sporting a tutu and rolling on the ground every chance she got. The afternoon passed so quickly, and then it was ceremony time.
There was a seat set aside for Chelsea’s late father, one of his cufflinks pinned to her blooms, tangible reminders that he was in fact there with her. The officiant shared their love story – their loved ones laughing along at a younger Josh and Chelsea who knew that this was the beginning of something. They shared the most beautiful handwritten vows, just what you’d expect from two writers. They promised to be a safe harbor in the midst of a storm, a sounding board when it all became too much, and to be a team when it was the two of them against the world. Soon enough, they were declared husband and wife, the very first moment of their marriage being laughter as their friends and family waved surprise bells for them to kiss.
The guests dined amongst books and book pages. Their first dance was sweetly choreographed to a song by the Damnwells. And it ended with the two of them gliding across the floor in their beloved converses. The dance floor was electric, with loved ones young and old celebrating with the newlyweds. Josh and Chelsea were married, and all of their favorite people were in the same room!
We loved this day! What a perfect way to come back to shooting weddings after a long maternity leave. Josh and Chelsea planned a beautiful, thoughtful day that we’ll still be talking about for years to come. My favorite part happened at the end of the night. Chelsea, with an affinity for twinkle lights, stood under them with her new husband. Married at last.
