I can’t quite explain with words how special Dan and Elana’s wedding day at Sundara was or what it meant to us. But, of course, I will try :] Dan and Elana had had hard circumstance after circumstance thrown their way in the couple weeks before their wedding day. And still, they showed up with unwavering joy. Joy beyond reason, really. Their day was steeped full of Jewish tradition and it was a beautiful celebration of family and legacy and friendship and love. Things started bright and early with loved ones busting around Sundara, putting up the chuppah, and exchanging big hugs. The mood was set for both Dan and Elana when they exchanged gifts presented to each other by their bridal parties. Dan gave Elana a song about her and their relationship and Elana gifted him a dance and a slideshow of memories. Both of them teared up and the tears never stopped from that point on! Elana donned her dress and was off to meet Dan. They both squeezed each other so tight with tears and giant smiles. They’d weathered storm after storm and finally, they were here.
It feels like the day passed both quickly and in full slow motion because every moment was full to the brim with significance. After some time with their bridal party, they moved into family portraits with Elana’s grandparents whose 67th wedding anniversary was that very day! Tisch was next! A time full of singing and dancing and exchanging joy and eventually, Dan was brought over to Elana and they relished in the surreal moment of togetherness again. They invited their guests to bear witness as they signed the ketubah and then it was ceremony time! Somehow everyone was both beaming and crying as Elana walked towards Dan! The mountains showed off in the background as they circled each other and exchanged vows, complete with using Elana’s grandparents rings. Song and dance erupted after they were wed and it didn’t stop the rest of the evening!
This was a dance party unlike any other! The floor was full starting with the hora on through the night! Nothing, not rain or delay, could stop the party from going on. Dan and Elana led the charge and barely stopped dancing for the next few hours. The rain came and went several times and still, it was the party of the year! What a joy!
Dan and Elana, you guys are so special to us! So thankful to be a part of this season of your lives.
