A college love story for the ages. Russ and Sarah met in a class at James Madison University. Class after class they kept choosing the same seats…next to each other. They chatted back and forth and eventually…Sarah slid into his DMs to ask about a paper. And things took off pretty quickly from there. Russ and Sarah’s lives fell into step with each other. It wasn’t long after that they were on a late night drive and Sarah saw a kitten in the road that she needed to save, Russ turned the car around without a word and that’s when she knew, Russ was the one for her. They’ve been through ten years of life side by side since then! Their wedding this fall will be both a celebration of the commitment they’ve already made and a chance to publicly proclaim what they’ve already been living out. What a gift!
We met up at Mountain Lake Lodge a couple weeks ago and had the most gorgeous of spring evenings. Sarah’s parents had gotten married at this very spot and they’ve been visiting for years. (bonus – it’s the Dirty Dancing hotel!) We talked through the timeline of their relationship, chatted about their wedding plans, and just had the best time walking the property! Being with Sarah and Russ feels like being with old friends! We ended their session with a quick hike to the top of a mountain with the most breathtaking views and a jaw droppingly beautiful sunset. What a fun evening!
